In 1995, the City of St. Marys instituted a Curbside Recycling Program . Through the years, the collection area has been expanded to outlying areas of the City. Beginning January 1, 2008, the program will once again experience some changes. An additional 38 streets will be added to the program, which offers 975 additional households curbside collection service. With this expansion of service, the City will have close to 100% of their public roads participating in the Curbside Recycling Program.
Changes will also be made to the items that are collected. The following items will be accepted at the curb beginning January 1, 2008. Aluminum Cans Glass Bottles/Jars - Green, Brown and Clear Newsprint
