ELECTRONICS RECYCLING CENTER

 


On July 5, 2004, the City of St. Marys became one of the first municipalities in the State of Pennsylvania to mandate electronics recycling.  Residents of St. Marys and Elk County can recycle their electronics free of charge due to a wonderful program set up by the Elk County Recycling Office.
The Elk County Electronics Center is located in the Stackpole Complex in St. Marys and is open the third Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Below is a list of items currently accepted at the Electronics Center:

  Compact Disc Players
  Copiers
  Duplicators
  DVD Players
  Electric Typewriters
  Fax Machines
  Hard Drives
  Laptops
  Mainframe Computers
  Cell Phones
  Modems
  Microwave Ovens
  Pagers
  Personal Computers
  (Including CPU, Monitor, Keyboards
  Mouse and Peripherals)
  Printers
  Printed Circuit Boards
  Radios
  Remote Controls
  Stereos
  Tape Players
  Telephones and Telephone Equipment
  Televisions
  Testing Equipment
  Transparency Makers
  Uninterruptible Power Supplies
  VCR's
The Elk County Electronics Center is now accepting batteries, fluorescent lamps and smoke detectors free of charge for residents.  There is a small fee for businesses.  Businesses can contact the Elk County Recycling Office at 776-5373 for additional information
Again, the Elk County Electronics Center is open the third Saturday of every month, weather permitting, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
