Girls: Two basketball leagues will be offered for girls – one for those entering 4th – 6th grade and one for those 7th – 9th grade. Games will be held at Luhr Park on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – noon. |

¨ Basketball Tournaments Riverboat: Tournaments will be held every Wednesday morning at Memorial Park for boys entering 9th grade and under. Registration is at 10 a.m. The first tournament will be held on June 18th. Blizzard Tournaments: Tournaments will be held every Friday morning at Luhr Park for girls entering 9th grade and under. Registration is at 9:45 a.m. The first tournament will be held on June 20th. Pizza Tournaments: Every Friday evening, Memorial Park will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Registration begins at 8:00 p.m. and games begin at 8:20 p.m. The first pizza tournament will be held June 6th. |

¨ Day Camp A day camp will be held for children entering 1st and 2nd grade, July 7th – 10th. For those entering 1st – 4th grade, a camp will run from July 14th – 17th. Also, a camp for children entering 3rd and 4th grades will be held on July 21st – 24th. Camps will run from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Highlights from the past include arts and crafts projects, movies and field trips. Meals will be provided from local area restaurants. The lottery system will be used again this year. The cutoff will be 25 children for all sessions. |

¨ Preschool Preschool will be held for children ages 4 and 5 at Memorial Park. Sessions will be held Monday/Wednesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Tuesday/Thursday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Preschool will be from June 9th-26th. Children will be provided snacks, participate in arts and crafts projects, watch movies, and go on field trips throughout the duration of the camp. Note that the lottery system will also be used for preschool if the demand exceeds capacity and the cutoff will be 25 children for each session. |

¨ May May 24th – 26th Straub Brewery Clay Court Championships A USTA sanctioned tournament held every Memorial Day weekend. Matches are played throughout the community on private clay and Har-Tru courts. Entry fee is $5.00 |

¨ July July 6th College Night This year Memorial Park will be holding a college night for college students to come out and represent their schools in a variety of events held at the park. Events may include a cinch tournament, volleyball, basketball and end at the pool. So gather your friends from school and come out to join us in a night of activities. |

July 7th – 11th McDonald’s Junior Tennis Tournament A tennis tournament open to junior residents of the St. Marys Area School District. Entry is free. Register at Memorial Park. |

July 9th Inner Park Day WKBI, Pizza Hut, and the St. Marys Recreation Department will be co-sponsoring the event. Ten events will be offered to participants and each participant will be scored based on their performance. There are separate divisions for boys and girls as well as for various age groups. Lunch is provided by Pizza Hut. |

July 18 -20 Dave’s Pro Shop Tennis Tournament A tennis tournament open to all current and past residents of the St. Marys Area School District. Entry is free. Register at Memorial Park. |

July 21st – 22nd Memorial Park Extended Play Volleyball Tournament Teams that play in the City Volleyball Leagues on Monday and Tuesday nights at Memorial Park may participate. There will be divisions based on league standings in the double elimination tournament. Entry fee is $10.00 per team. |

TBA The 3rd Annual Operation Recreation Similar to last year’s Operation Recreation Geocache event, this year’s event will be held on a Saturday and will be better than ever. Beginning and Experienced Geocachers from any geographic area are welcome! Geocaching is described as “an entertaining adventure game for GPS users.” Through the use of GPS coordinates, special hidden caches are found which contain logbooks and sometimes prizes. Listen to The River 98.9 for further details. Prizes, including a grand prize, will be awarded at the event. |

Lee Foster Memorial Run Trophies and awards are given to the top finishers of this 5K run. There are categories for males and females as well as for various age groups. |

National Night Out This year the St. Marys Recreation Department will be holding a community wide Dodgeball tournament. A cookout will be held after the tournament and prizes will be awarded to the winners. |

Dates, times, and prizes will be announced via the St. Marys Daily Press. ¨ Dates TBA – Ultimate Frisbee Tournaments There will be several ultimate Frisbee tournaments held on Sunday nights this summer at Benzinger Park. Specific dates, times and prizes will be announced. Watch for them in the Daily Press. |

¨ Volleyball · Adult Volleyball Leagues No Spike Coed Sand League · Student Volleyball Leagues High School League All games will be played on Wednesday evenings. Play begins on June 4th and ends on July 23rd. Playoffs and championships will be held on August 6th. |

¨ Basketball · Men’s Basketball League Open to all entering 9th grade and older in the 2008-2009 school year. Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Games begin June 3rd and end on August 31st. Playoffs will be played Tuesday August 5th – Thursday August 14th. |

· Women’s Basketball League Open to all entering 9th grade and above in the 2008-2009 school year. Games are played on Monday evenings. They will begin June 9th and end July 28th. Playoffs will be played on Monday July 4th and Monday August 11th. |

· High School 3-on-3 Basketball Open to all boys or girls entering grades 12 and under in the 2008-2009 school year. Games are played on Monday evenings. Registration goes until 8:45 PM and play begins 9:00 PM. Games begin June 9th. |

Youth Activities The following are weekly activities and will run from Monday June 11th through Friday August 3rd. |

¨ Arts and Crafts Arts and Crafts will be held each Monday and are open to all ages. There will be 2 sessions held. The times for these sessions are 9:45 – 10:45 a.m and 11:00 to 12:00. |

¨ Kickball League A Kickball League will be held Tuesdays and Fridays in June for children ages 3 to 5 at 10 a.m. You can come and play any Tuesday or Friday starting June 13th. |

¨ Tennis Lessons Tennis lessons will be given on Wednesdays and are open to all youth. Times for lessons are 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m and will begin June 18th. |

¨ New Comb Ball This event will be held on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Children ages 6 – 10 are welcome. |

¨ Youth Volleyball Volleyball will be held on Wednesday mornings at 11 a.m. for children 10 – 13 years old. The first game is June 11th. |

¨ Wiffleball League On Tuesdays and Fridays in July, a wiffleball league will be held for children between the ages of 3 and 5. This event will take place at 10 a.m. You can come and play any Tuesday or Friday beginning July 8th. |

¨ Summer Camps Three Sessions of summer camp for youth entering grades K-4 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the following dates: Session 1: June 17 – June 20 Session 2: June 30- July 3 Session 3: July 15 – 18 |

¨ Old Timers Softball Tournament* A softball tournament will be held for people over age 35 on Saturday August 2nd. A registration fee of $50 per team will apply |

¨ 3-on-3 Hoops Classic* On Saturday July 19th a 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held. The cost is $12 per team. |

¨ Men’s 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament* A basketball tournament for men will be held on Friday, July 11th and Saturday July 12th. A cost of $30 per team will apply. |

¨ Benzinger Park 5K Fun Run* The annual Benzinger Park 5K Fun Run will be held on Saturday July 26th at 9:30 a.m. An entry fee of $10 is required. |

¨ 3-Point Shoot-out and Slam Dunk Contest* On Wednesday June 25th at 7:00 p.m., a 3-point shoot-out and slam dunk competition will be held. |

Pool Hours Daily hours are from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Saturday. Open Swim begins at 1:15 p.m. during Swimming Lessons. On Sunday evenings a Night Swim will be held from 8:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. |

Pool Activities ¨ Swimming Lessons St. Marys Community Pool will be offering three 2-week sessions of swimming lessons. These sessions are from June 9 – 20, June 30 – July 11, and July 21 – August 1. Each session runs Monday through Friday at the following times: 10 – 10:45 a.m.; 11 – 11:45 a.m.; 12 – 12:45 p.m.; and 8:30 – 9:15 p.m. Preschool Aquatics is offered at 12 – 12:45 p.m. during each session. For this class, a parent or legal guardian must be in the water at all times with the child. You can register for swimming lessons at the Community Pool during normal operating hours. Registration cannot be made by telephone. ¨ Water Aerobics As in the past, the St. Marys Community Pool will be having water aerobics two times a week in the pool. They will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m the days TBA. The cost is $2.00 for non-members and $1.00 for members. |

¨ Memorial Swim Team Swim Meets The Memorial Swim Team’s home meets for this summer are yet to be announced. On these dates, the Community Pool will be CLOSING AT 4:30 P.M. The swim meets are open to the public. No Open Swim will be held during any of these event times. |

¨ Arts and Crafts Arts and Crafts will be held for children of all ages at 11:00 a.m. every Monday. ¨ Football League A football league will be held Wednesdays and Fridays. Sign up at Kaulmont Park or call 834-9420. Start date will be announced. ¨ Touchdowns for Tomorrow” Football Camp Touchdowns for Tomorrow football camp will be held at Kaulmont Park for anyone 1st through 6th grade on July 22 – July 24 from 12:00-1:30. Dutch Varsity players and coaches will be on hand to assist in technique and football drills. There will be a party at the Community Pool for all participants on the night of Friday July 25th. There may be a cost of $5 and t-shirts will be given to all participants as well as other prizes will be awarded. Registration will be held the month of June.
