Leaf Program

Leaf Pick Up Schedule

In the fall of each year, the leaf program starts with the Street Department vacuum machine picking up leaves that are raked to the curb or berm.  Leaves are not to be raked into the curb gutters or ditches. The roads and streets designated follow the "recycling area" that is set up in the City of St. Marys.  There are approximately 160 roads and streets broken up into four areas that fall under the program.  Branches, garbage, garden debris, tree limbs and and other materials left in piles will not be accepted by the vacuum.  Leaves should be ready for pickup on the Monday of the week your street or road is scheduled.  The City Crew also checks roads and streets in the "leaf collection area" for bags of leaves that have been placed at the curb or berm.  Again, garden debris, tree limbs and branches, garbage, etc. will not be accepted.   If time and weather permits, some areas may be gone over a second time.

Anyone that is NOT within the leaf collection area may bring BAGGED leaves to the compost facility located off Wilson Road daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  All bags must be emptied and placed in the appropriate area.

Anyone with a request for leaves for their farm or garden are asked to contact the Street Department Office and state where you want the leaves delivered within St. Marys, how many you want, and whether you want the bags of leaves or the loose leaves.  Your name will then be put on a list.
