The Canine Unit is responsible for assisting in and investigating drug activity, the tracking of fleeing suspects, and the tracking of lost or missing persons.  We provide searches of buildings, vehicles, area, and other type searches for our department and other requesting Law Enforcement agencies.

The Canine Unit also participates in school searches at several surrounding schools.

Our Canine Unit also provides several education programs and does public demonstrations when requested.  We currently have the K-9 Kudro's Junior Patrol Program for children up to the sixth grade.   We also provide a dog safety program to educate children on how to approach a dog and not get injured.

If you would like a demonstration or one of our education programs  for your school, club or organization,  or if you would like to report suspected drug activity,  please contact us at the St. Marys City Police Department (814) 781-1315.
