In the spring and fall every year, the City holds CLEAN UP DAY for
the residents of the City of St. Marys.
The
dump site is located off Graphite Road which leads into the City Maintenance Building. The hours of operation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. in the spring and from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 in the
fall. NO EARLY DUMPING IS PERMITTED.
Residents
will be allowed to bring items difficult to haul away for disposition at a certified
landfill. The following items will NOT be allowed:
garbage, old cars, tree branches, clippings or grass cuttings. Items such as old furniture, appliances,
mattresses, electronics, water heaters, barrels, etc. are allowed as long as the item can
be hand dumped by the residents. No hydraulic
truck bed dumping is permitted. (If possible,
please restrict the use of trailers.)
Areas
will be set up to take all metal scrap, tires, and general items. The Electronics Center off Enterprise Street in the
Stackpole Complex is usually open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for electronics.
Residents are urged to take their electronics to the Center instead of taking them
to the Clean Up Day site. Residents are also
asked to cooperate with the workers at both sites to insure efficient sorting. There will be a minimum $2.00 fee charged for
residential vehicular tires.
Large truck
or tractor tires will not be accepted. Commercial
or industrial dumping is prohibited. |
